Why Hunter? Why now?

Imagine how different our lives would be if we had attended our local middle and high schools. Consider how extraordinary it was that a place like Hunter was there for us during some of the most formative years of our lives.
Hunter has serious long-term financial needs, and the impact of decades of consistent underfunding must be reversed. For too long, Hunter has received fewer dollars per student than other New York City public schools (including other schools for gifted students). Hunter students been shortchanged by having to make do with outmoded technology, outdated science labs, and worn textbooks.
Hunter teachers – among the best in the country, and very much part of what made Hunter special for us, deserve on-going investments in faculty development. Hunter students deserve it as well.
The Alumnae/i Association is working hard to give Hunter the financial assistance that that it desperately needs. Even in these hard financial times, we ask that you give as much as you can. Even if you cannot give much, what you do give will make a difference. Consider the fact that each dollar you invest in Hunter will pay dividends that are far more certain than those from financial investments you can make elsewhere!
