Member of the Board of Directors: Job Description and Expectations
Purpose: To advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with the leadership and general promotion of HCHSAA so as to support the organization’s mission and goals.
Major responsibilities:
- Attend monthly board meetings at
(dates decided in September)Hunter College
- Review agenda and supporting materials prior to board and committee meetings.
- Board members must not miss more than two meetings per academic year.
- Serve on committees or task forces and offer to take on special assignments.
- Committees include events and fundraising.
- Special assignments include AlumNotes, website maintenance, and event planning.
- Assist the board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities.
- Review and award funds as per HCHSAA’s mission and guidelines
- Reviewing the organization's annual financial statements.
- Fundraising.
- Be informed about the organization's mission, services, policies, and programs.
- Inform others about the organization.
- Keep up-to-date on developments related to HCHS and Hunter Alums.
- Attend some of our special events, including reunion in June, our Spring fundraiser, and several other social or networking events throughout the year.
- Pay annual dues and financially support HCHSAA in a manner commensurate with one’s ability.
Length of term: Three years, which may be renewed up to a maximum of two consecutive terms.
