There is good news to share from the Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA), which is led by alumna Nancy YAO Maasbach ’90. The January 2020 fire that gutted a nearby building housing over 80,000 items from its archives was less severe than expected. While portions of the collection were lost, and others damaged, the museum has been able to salvage many more objects than was thought possible in the initial days following the calamity. Like many other cultural institutions, it is now possible to experience a digital tour of MOCA’s permanent exhibition, With a Single Step: Stories in the Making of America. Click here to see the exhibit.
