2023 Nominations to the HCHSAA Board of Directors & Standing Committees

Jan 30, 2023 | Alumnae/i Association

The Alumnae/i Association invites interested alums to apply to join its Board of Directors for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023. If you agree that your education, experience, and friendships developed during your time at Hunter were some of the best years of your life, and you are ready to continue to build those relationships and give back to the high school’s current students, we want to hear from you.

HCHSAA is a volunteer social and charitable organization committed to the recruitment, development, and advancement of the gifted students and alumnae/i of Hunter College High School. Our mission is to sustain a social and professional network for alumnae/i and to provide support to the high school and its students. A diversity of experiences and skills are necessary for our work, and we need talents of all sorts, from event planning to volunteer recruitment, to communications & marketing, to business/law/finance, to social justice & inclusion work, to student mentoring. Accepting a Board position requires quality time to attend and actively participate in several board meetings annually and to do committee work throughout the year.

Board terms are three years. Directors may serve up to two consecutive terms and then serve again after a one-year hiatus, but priority will be given to well-qualified candidates who have not previously served on the Board.

Please submit your letter of interest and résumé by April 1, 2023 to governance@hchsaa.org or the address listed below. Virtual interviews will be held starting in April, with the AA membership voting on a final slate at the annual members’ meeting on June 3, 2023.

Even if you are not certain that you are ready to serve as a board member, please submit your letter of interest and a resume for our consideration. There is a lot of work to do that will allow you to meet your fantastic fellow alumnae/i and to advance the work of the AA without becoming a board member, and we would be pleased to meet you and connect you to assignments that are appropriate and meaningful to where you are in life.

Thank you for your consideration.
